Caucasian Knot says one of the key issues for GUAM — the Georgian Ukraine Azerbaijan and Moldova Organization for Democracy and Economic Development — will be Nabucco.

Azerbaijan will chair GUAM in 2012.

Elton Mamedov, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of GUAM said energy security would be a priority this coming year and Nabucco would have a prominent place in the discussion.

Ilham Shaban of Caspian Barrel Center of Oil Research is quoted as saying that energy components of the GUAM partnership are becoming dominant.

Nothing more is said about what Nabucco really means to these countries and I wonder if they're all prepared to weigh in on the Turkmen-Azeri border dispute in the Caspian Sea.
